Homebrewer spotlight brought to you by The Beer Growler

In The News:

Studio Guest:

Bart Roberts , lead brewer for NoDa Brewing Co., and John Watkins, head brewer for Lenny Boy Brewing, got together for a collaboration style bock a few weeks ago.  These two Charlotte brewers have a history that goes back to their days working at Alternative Beverage, the local homebrew store.  Their love of lagers and all styles that are bright and clean led to this collab.  Two batches were made, one at NoDa and one at Lenny Boy and should be available in the next couple of weeks.

BJCP Tasting:

This week we got stumped.  A Traditional Bock, 5B, isn’t too easy to find around the Queen City.  So we flew in one of our finest homebrewers, Joe Domm, to explain the differences in Traditional Bocks versus other bocks.  And with a little help from our friends at the Craft Tasting Room and Growler Shop we got to enjoy Troegs Cultivator Helles Bock while we discussed.

Homebrewer Spotlight:

Special thanks to The Beer Growler for sponsoring this week’s homebrewer segment. Stop by and grab a flight while filling up your empty growlers.

Joe Domm joins us on the phone.  Joe is local homebrewer and co-host of Fermentation Nation, a Brew Carolina Network partner, who just walked away with a couple silver medals from the Olde Hickory & Howard Pro Am.  He has also be awarded medals for his bock styles so who better to call to discuss category 5.
